
Congratulations to our 16 DECA students that qualified and competed at 2024 National #DECAICDC in California last week. BHS DECA earned 4 invitations to the exclusive Thrive Level leadership program where students worked with CEOs of fortune 500 companies on various skills. Leslie O, Giselle R, Antonio D, & Nayeli L completed the Thrive Program. BHS school store earned Gold Certified status in both retail & food operations. Raul C & Ava C competed in School Enterprise Food Operation competition while Marijane G & Jordy M competed in School Based Enterprise Retail Operation competition.
2 groups made it to Nationals for "Business Solutions": Dominique M & Destiny V finished 3rd at State & Yoseline D, Elina A, & Isabella E, finished 2nd . Both groups earned their tickets to Nationals and had a fantastic ride!
Lastly, Andrea O, Elizabeth R, & Michelle R. were the Illinois State CHAMPIONS in the Sales Project competition. At ICDC they competed against hundreds of other groups and finished in the top 20! "It was an amazing way to wrap up the DECA year. The students learn so much about professionalism, networking, adversity, & competing against the best of the best from around the world. BHS senior Susann C. organized the '24 BHS Charity Soccer Game and it was a huge success! She, along with her fellow classmates, raised over $2000 for Save the Children through ticket sales. A group of business students had the opportunity to visit @mwrd_of_greater_chicago to go DOWN 297 floors to the deep tunnel & take a tour of the McCook Reservoir. Students met with Chief Operating Engineers to learn about our wastewater & stormwater management as well as the many careers that the @mwrd_of_greater_chicago offer. Chicago History students had the opportunity to visit one of Chicago's most visited attractions, @SheddAquarium. The Shedd has been part of Chicago history since 1930. They enjoyed a dolphin show & were able to experience several other exhibits. #BremenBraves #shedd_aquarium
